The first step is to contact your Rocco advisor —by phone or email— to confirm approval of the quote. Once that's done, you'll need to pay a 50% deposit of the total price of your project to proceed with reviewing and approving the files to be printed, or to begin the design process with our team. It's important to clarify that the delivery time starts counting the moment all the artwork for printing is approved.

Yes. Again, your advisor will be the main bridge between you and our production team, letting you know the current status of your order, possible delays in the process or deliveries ahead of the agreed date. He (or she) will be the one contacting you to provide the relevant information about your project.

If it's your first time with Rocco, you must make a 50% deposit of the total order price to begin production. If you've used our services before, you can ask an advisor about the documentation needed to open a line of credit with us.

If your project will be shipped outside Medellín, you must pay for the order in full before we send the pieces. For added security, the existence of the printed material will be verified with photographs.

At Rocco your order can be paid in cash, by credit card or through a bank transfer, whether online or from an ATM.

If your file is print-ready, you should send it in the original format it was designed in. The programs typically used are Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. Failing that, you can send them as a PDF or JPG with excellent image quality and resolution.

Regarding the specific characteristics your files should have, it's important to keep the following in mind:

1. If your piece includes downloaded fonts, different from those already built into the design program, you must send them along with your print file. Another option is to convert your entire design to outlines (curves) to avoid issues with the text.
2. The piece must have all files embedded, so that it doesn't require links (images and other elements placed in the design that come from external sources) when opened at Rocco. Another alternative is to send us the links and files you consider necessary.
3. Verify that the size of the file you send matches the size quoted for the order.
4. Verify that the number of inks in the file matches the ones initially quoted.
5. Under no circumstances should you send your files in RGB. Lithographic printing only works with CMYK.

The RGB model (Red, Green, Blue) is designed for digital media and handles a color spectrum that isn't functional for printing on paper. The CMYK system (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key), on the other hand, is the right one for optimally producing color printing on paper or other materials.

A one-ink design uses a single color and all its variations in different percentages, called screens (tints) in lithography. In other words, you work with one color, playing with its intensities or levels of transparency. The same happens with two- and three-ink designs: the number of colors used changes, but you still play with the intensity percentages.

In four-ink design there are two possible options: in the first, a full-color process arises in which the CMYK system combines all the colors. This is what's normally called full-color printing. In the second, the four inks are chosen specifically by the client, according to the needs of their design.

Finally, when we talk about more than four inks we mean that, in addition to the four inks resulting from the CMYK system, the client can choose other colors whose formula is specific. An example of this is the Pantone chart, available at Rocco.

In some cases it's possible to make a Sherpa proof, or color proof, on a paper quite similar to glossy coated stocks. This will let you get an idea of the definition and intensity of your design's colors. This proof can be applied to flyers, cards, folded pieces and other items whose finishes aren't complex or costly. For large orders such as publications, planners or notebooks, no Sherpa proof is made, but don't worry: at Rocco we have high quality standards that guarantee a satisfactory result on your order.

One of them is a special monitor for printing, which lets you view the design exactly as it will look once printed. This is achieved because this equipment is calibrated to the work the machines must perform. If you visit our facilities with an appointment previously assigned by your advisor, you'll be able to review your project on the monitor before sending it to print.

No. Production and design are separate processes at Rocco. If you bring your own print-ready design, the delivery time starts counting from the approval of the file that's ready to go to the machines. Conversely, if you want our designers to create your pieces, the time this process takes will be independent from the production time. Once the design we deliver is approved by you, the delivery time for your order officially begins.

There are three specific cases:

1. For small pieces that aren't very complex, the process can take one to two business days.
2. For intermediate pieces (brochures, folders, booklets, folded pieces), we'd be talking about three to four business days.
3. For lengthy publications, the design can take a week or more, depending on the number of pages and the specific requirements of each project.

Remember: in these cases, more is better. In other words: call, write and talk! Communication with your advisor will be decisive in the final result of your order. At Rocco we accompany the entire design process, if you need it. That said, the clearer your idea and the graphic references to develop it, the faster and more satisfactory our design team's work will be.

You have no idea how much we hoped you'd ask this question! In the case of saddle-stitched brochures or booklets, the specifications are as follows:

It's important —very important!— that the number of pages be a multiple of 4. That way, no page is left out.

The cover must always be printed on a stock thicker than the inner pages.

The staples will always be visible. Nothing to be done about it.

Because of the material that binds the pages (staples), the number of leaves shouldn't exceed twenty or twenty-five.

The brochure or booklet design must have generous bleed, so that when the pages are joined no information is lost.
